Happy Chinese New Year. Sunday school takes a break for CNY next week the 2nd of February but will resume on the 9th of February 2014.

Dear Parents,
Welcome to the new Sunday School year 2014. I am sure you are all looking forward to this year as our children will be receiving their Reconciliation and Holy Communion sacraments for the very first time.
As we approach the year afresh let me introduce you to us the teachers and the curriculum as well as the requirements both you and your children will have to fulfill before these sacraments can be imparted.

The curriculum for the year as stated in their textbooks will mainly consist of the TEN COMMANDMENTS and THE BEATITUDES. Apart from these your children will be required compulsorily to know and memorize the following prayers:
1.THE LORD’S PRAYER (OUR FATHER)
2.THE HAIL MARY
3.THE GLORY BE
4.THE ACT OF CONTRITION
5.THE PRAYER BEFORE CONFESSION (Bless me father ……..)
It will also be great if you could supervise their daily bible reading and weekly memory verse .
Our Class project/outreach theme this year is MISSION LIFE and we will be visiting the nuns or brothers homes nearby.We hope to confirm this soon and will notify you as soon as possible.
This year we welcome the participation of parents directly in assisting to teach their children in the classroom in our pioneer volunteer project.
At the end of this letter there will be a Volunteer Form ,which we would like you to fill up and and be part of the growing process of your childs’ faith .The lesson plan will already be prepared and available on the class website which is STD4PAUL.BLOGSPOT.COM We the main teachers will conduct the lessons but we would like 2 parents per week to help and assist us in supervising the assignments and various activities the class may carry out.We would like to start this programme by February 2014 so please give us your preferred dates in the form so we may assign them to you in advance.In total we expect there will be about 30 classes in all before the First Holy Communion so please don’t delay .Join up and let’s make this year great for our children.
Please provide your child with a Catholic bible (Imprimatur) and full pencil case,small scissors and glue.Teacher Jeanne and myself are providing a bible diary for each child and folder for their course work.Any contributions towards this cost would be much appreciated with any extra added to our class fund which we will use for poor and/ needy .
